Headliners announced at Towersey

Bellowhead and Show Of Hands are the first headline acts to be announced for 2015’s Towersey Festival.

They’ll be joined by singer-songwriter (and Voice UK 2014 finalist) Sally Barker, Scottish supergroup The Treacherous Orchestra, and Martin Simpson, whose new venture sees him team with Nancy Kerr and melodeon player Andy Cutting.

Other acts announced for the famed independent Oxfordshire festival include songwriter/ guitarist John Smith (as heard in the FolkCast Festive Selection Box 2014), Mancunian alternative folk combo The Travelling Band, the fabulous Blackbeard's Tea Party and enduring Towersey favourites and Australia’s The Spooky Men’s Chorale. Further headline acts will be revealed in the New Year.

“We’re very pleased to be welcoming back Bellowhead, who have become one of the UK’s biggest live bands since they first played Towersey in 2006,” says Festival Director Joe Heap, who adds that 2015’s festival capitalises on the runaway success of the recent 50th anniversary.

“If our Golden Jubilee in 2014 was our best festival yet, we want to make 2015 even better! We have some real surprises in store for festival-goers this year, as well as retaining everything our regular visitors have told us they love so much about Towersey.

Bellowhead“There’ll be more details, including news of more big-name acts, announced soon.”

Towersey Festival debuted in 1964 and quickly established itself as one of the UK’s most respected annual music festivals. Featuring multiple performance spaces, it now combines topflight musical talent with spoken word, dance, workshops, family-friendly activities, food and drink.

Tier One tickets for the full festival are available now. Prices start from just £90 (Adult), £63 (Youth 12-17yrs), £45 (Child 5-11yrs), with under 5s free. Camping £25 (per adult/ youth). Split payment option available.

“As a thanks to all those who booked early for our 50th festival, we’ve reduced the price of our first release tickets, and also introduced an opportunity for ticket buyers to spread the cost of payment over several months,” says Joe.
